Thunder Force is an eight-direction scrolling shooter released on a great many platforms. The PC-6001mkII version is nice, but it does suffer in terms of contrast, it maybe tries too hard to be colorful. More colors can be a boon to a game, of course, but they seem to have chosen not to use the extra 7 colors available to the PC-6001, and just used the base 8 colors (in all fairness, this is compatible with a wider array of displays).

In Thunder Force, you have a gun and a bomb attack on your ship. This allows you to attack air targets and ground targets. I am not sure if there is a strategy or not, but my strategy is to just attack everything in sight.

This is the first time I actually made it out of the initial area. I didn't quite get to level 2, but I made it outside of the introductory area of level 1 and found myself in an area thick with greenery (which made it pretty hard to see my ship!). Well, this is far from my strong suit when it comes to video gaming.

Mine was boxed and came with the instruction booklet.
