Reviver is the type of game that doesn't seem like it should run on an 8-bit computer. I haven't gotten that far into it, but there's a lot to be impressed by. Its engine does a lot of heavy-lifting of graphics for the time. It's a multi-window game with configurable window positions and sizes. It allows you to move freely in eight directions with minimal load times between regions and events. And the sprites are absolutely huge, to boot.

The sound is also brilliant. It's got a rock-inspired gloomy soundtrack that supports FM sound if you have it. The background sound effects increase in volume as you get closer to the source, such as a pounding hammer sound as you approach the arms smith, or the sound of waves as you get closer to the shore.

It keeps track of details like time of day, and different establishments will be open or closed depending on the time. It monitors how tired, hungry, or thirsty you are. It also remembers whether you've interacted with a particular NPC before or not, and what you talked to them about. In addition to about a dozen set questions you can ask an NPC, it also allows you to free-enter text for dialog. It's a lot of well thought-out small things that come together to make a unique experience!
